One in two Australian men and one in three Australian women will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85. The most common cancers in Australia are prostate, bowel, breast, melanoma and lung cancer. The emotional costs of cancer aside (which are of course the most important aspect of this serious disease), cancer costs more than 3.8 billion dollars in direct healthcare costs which accounts for around 7% of the total cost to the health system.
Friday the 23rd August is Daffodil Day and there will be merchandise sold all over Australia supporting this worthy cause. Why not make a difference and give a donation. Every cent spent on cancer research takes us much closer to a cure.
