Dr Shobhan Manoharan

Dermatologist and Director, Brisbane Skin, Westside Dermatology, Sweat Free Clinics and The Psoriasis Institute. Senior Clinical Lecturer, University of Queensland and Griffith University Dr Shobhan Manoharan studied medicine at the University of Queensland, worked in the United Kingdom and Australia, has extensive surgical experience and has sub-specialised in cosmetic and laser dermatology. Dr Manoharan is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatology, Foundation Member of the Australasian Society for Cosmetic Dermatology, member of the Australian Medical Association and is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland and Griffith University. Actively involved in the training of dermatology registrars, medical students, general practitioners and pharmacists in all aspects of dermatology, Dr Manoharan has published and presented extensively both locally and internationally over the last decade. After completing 6 years of medical and surgical training at the University of Queensland and working in hospitals across Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, Dr Manoharan worked in hospitals in Liverpool and Portsmouth in the United Kingdom to expand his experience in dermatology. He then returned to Brisbane to complete his training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and Queensland Institute of Dermatology. Further sub-specialist training in laser and cosmetic dermatology was achieved both in Australia and the United States of America. Dr Manoharan is also co-director of Westside Dermatology, and founder and co-director of Sweat Free Clinics and The Psoriasis Institute. He has a special interest in acne and acne scar treatments, hyperhidrosis treatments, pigmentation disorders, laser rejuvenation and skin cancer management. “Dermatology is a pleasure and a passion for me. I enjoy meeting new patients and believe in building long-term professional relationships with them. I think the key is to really listen to your patient’s concerns, then talk them through the options most suited to address their issues. No two patients are exactly the same, and my job is to tailor a bespoke plan to help each individual look and feel their best.”
