Wesley joined the Activ Therapy team in 2013, graduating from the University of Western Sydney with a Bachelor of Health Science (Sport and Exercise Science) as well as his Doctor of Physiotherapy degree.
He has a keen interest in sports performance and injury prevention, in particular for basketball which he has competed at the representative level. Wesley has worked for two years as the team Physiotherapist for the South West Sydney Magpies AFL club, allowing him to work closely with athletes and allowing him to gain invaluable experience in treating musculoskeletal injuries, particularly of the knee, shoulder, ankle, neck and back ailments.
Wesley understands the importance of implementing evidence based research into clinical practice. As part of Wesley’s Doctor of Physiotherapy degree, his research thesis investigated the activity levels of patients in a private rehabilitation facility. This research project is in the process of publication.
Wesley is also experienced in assessing workplace desk ergonomics, having completed clinical placements at Optus. As such, he understands the importance of optimising posture and the desk space to reduce the strain on the body during work.
