Dr Emma has a Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science and a Master of Dentistry which she earned at Griffith University in her home town of the Gold Coast. During post-graduate dentistry studies Emma loved to get involved with charity dental work and orchestrated and operated free dental services for people who are homeless, children in foster care and also clinics in remote indigenous communities. Throughout study, Emma worked at various dental clinics as an assistant and clinic coordinator. After completing university Emma followed an interest for rural health, relocating to Gympie to work as the sole dentist at a clinic. Dr Emma always knew she wanted to become a dentist and this dream only grew with time. When she was 9 she had an accident which knocked out her front tooth and was amazed when her dentist saved her tooth. Emma was able to experience firsthand just how valuable dentistry can be in order to restore quality of life and confidence. Working as a dentist later in life Emma’s most memorable experience was caring for a 9 year old girl who had knocked out her front tooth just like Emma did. Emma was so glad to have helped save the tooth and restore her smile. Emma also enjoys working with children and special needs patients. Emma loves hiking, going to the gym and spending time with her partner and 4-year-old daughter, Madeleine.

Dr Julie Cox graduated from Griffith University with awards for academic excellence. She was born on the Gold Coast where she grew up in the beautiful Tallebudgera Valley before moving to Palm Beach. When she is not working at Coastal Dental Care Kingscliff, Dr Julie Cox enjoys kayaking at Currumbin. As well, she enjoys bike riding with her husband and two children along the Gold Coast’s beach-ways. Dr Julie Cox enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and is passionate about providing outstanding quality care, in a kind and compassionate manner.

Dr Richard Kneebone graduated from Bristol University in 2005. He immigrated to Australia in 2008 and has been working in the Tweed Shire ever since. Richard understands that most patients feel anxious and tailors his approach to individual needs. He has become a popular dentist in the area with a strong following of patients at Coastal Dental Care Kingscliff. Dr Kneebone strives to provide high-quality dentistry, including cosmetic procedures, restorative dentistry and implants and is also great with children. Richard is a local, and in his spare time he enjoys fishing, cycling, and gardening.

Dr Wilson Tavares Filho grew up in Porto Alegre, Brazil, and completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the Lutheran University of Brazil in 1999. Being particularly interested in dental technology, aesthetics and dental implant rehabilitation, Wilson chose to deepen his knowledge at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. He completed his postgraduate degree in Prosthodontics in 2010. His passion for dentistry showed from an early age, being inspired by his father, who was also a dentist. He loved spending time in the dental surgery and, after graduating, joined the family practice in Brazil. Wilson creates beautiful smiles by delivering the highest quality of dentistry to his patients. He values looking after people with the respect and professionalism they expect. He came to Australia with his family in 2014, and he fell in love with the culture and the Australian lifestyle. In his time away from the dental chair, Wilson enjoys travelling, cooking, reading, and, of course, surfing.

Naomi Lane is a Dental Therapist with broad experience providing gentle, evidence-based dental care for children, adolescents, and adults. She originally trained as a Dental Therapist in Melbourne and spent 10 years working with the Victorian School Dental Service before completing additional orthodontic training and moving into private practice, where she worked across both general dentistry and orthodontic clinics. After relocating to the Tweed Coast in 2008, Naomi continued to expand her clinical knowledge by completing postgraduate studies at the University of Melbourne. This further developed her skills in preventive dentistry, restorative dental care, and oral health management, allowing her to provide comprehensive care for patients of all ages. Naomi is passionate about preventive dental care and believes education and personalised advice are the foundations of lifelong oral health. She enjoys helping patients understand their oral health and supporting them with tailored treatment plans that encourage healthy habits and long-term maintenance. She provides a wide range of routine dental treatments, with a particular focus on disease prevention, oral health education, and patient-centred care. Kirsten has built a successful and fulfilling career in the Dental Industry on the Gold Coast, where she has worked in various roles for over 30 years. 2008, she earned her Bachelor of Oral Health in Oral Health Therapy from Griffith University. She has since been practising as an OHT for 15+ years and is particularly interested in Orthodontics, Preventative and General Dentistry for children and adults, and Periodontics. As an Oral Health Therapist, Kirsten holds the admirable goal of providing comprehensive education and treatment to all her patients.
