Dr Samantha Kuo completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery with distinction at James Cook University in Queensland. After gaining valuable experience working across north and south-east Queensland, she returned to her hometown of Brisbane to continue her career in dentistry. Dr Sam enjoys all aspects of dentistry, with a special interest in cosmetic dentistry and oral surgery, including implantology. She is a perfectionist with a warm and friendly personality, always taking the time to listen carefully to her patients’ needs and concerns. She is committed to creating a stress-free dental experience while delivering the highest standard of care. Her gentle and caring nature ensures every visit is both comfortable and positive. Dr Sam also regularly undertakes professional development to ensure her knowledge and skills remain at the forefront of modern dentistry. Outside of dentistry, Sam enjoys spending time with her dog, Milky. She loves travelling, reading, and visiting the beach on her days off.

Jasmeen practiced in Sydney and the Sunshine Coast before moving to Brisbane. She graduated with honours from the University of Otago, New Zealand in 2007, receiving numerous prizes and awards for her academic achievements throughout her degree. Dr Kaur worked for six years in the heart of the Sydney CBD, Neutral Bay and Glebe, for practices that were among the largest privately owned clinics in Australia. She then spent three years running her own practice on the Sunshine Coast, where she provided care across all aspects of dentistry. Her professional interests include Functional Orthodontics (generally without extraction of teeth), TMJ therapy (addressing jaw disorders related to head and neck pain), cosmetic dentistry (including crowns, veneers and teeth whitening) and children’s dentistry. Dr Kaur takes a holistic approach to dentistry, always mindful of the impact oral health has on overall wellbeing. She enjoys practising with a whole-body mindset and collaborates with some of the country’s leading osteopaths, chiropractors, naturopaths and nutritionists. In 2013, Jasmeen completed a two-year mini-residency in Orthodontics. She uses both removable and fixed appliances to help create balance and facial harmony. One aspect of dentistry she particularly enjoys is supporting patients with dental anxiety. She is passionate about helping nervous patients overcome their fears and regain good dental health and confidence. Outside of dentistry, Jasmeen enjoys cooking, painting, reading, yoga, travelling with her young family and expanding her knowledge about wellbeing and living a holistic lifestyle.

Phil graduated from the University of Queensland in 2008. After working for several years in private practices in Noosa, Phil returned to his hometown of Brisbane. He has completed additional study relating to the treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Snoring in a dental setting. Away from the clinic Phil will often be spotted using a Dyson Vacuum Cleaner on account of the two large Maine Coon cats that now reside at home.

Dr. Priyesh Shah is a distinguished dental professional with extensive experience and expertise across various fields of dentistry. He graduated from King’s College, University of London, in 1999, and since then, he has devoted his career to providing exceptional dental care. In 2006, he moved to Australia, where he quickly became a respected member of the dental community. In 2007, Dr. Shah established his own practice and has since dedicated over two decades to delivering comprehensive dental services. Known for his commitment to excellence, innovative approach, and compassionate care, he has earned the trust and admiration of both his colleagues and patients. His warm and gentle demeanor allows him to establish strong rapport with those he treats. Dr. Shah's expertise spans a wide range of dental procedures, including dental implants, sinus lifts, orthodontics, clear aligners, and crowns and bridges. He remains at the forefront of his field through continuous education and advanced training, with a special interest in All-on-4 treatments, facial aesthetics, and TMJ dysfunction, all aimed at ensuring the highest standard of care for his patients. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Shah enjoys a variety of hobbies. He is an avid Formula 1 fan, keeping up with the latest races and developments in the sport.

Jill has been working in the dental industry for many years, initially as an Oral Health Therapist, before she became a dental surgeon. She graduated her Dentistry degree with first class honours, and excellence awards in Prosthodontics and Paediatric dentistry as well as student leadership. Jill has a special interest in oral surgery and the treatment of patients under general anaesthetics. Jill has worked with specialists in the field, gaining experience in many areas including cosmetic dentistry and orthodontics. She is excellent with anxious patients, children and those with special needs and has a caring chairside manner and makes the most anxious feel at ease. She was mentored by Dr John McCann in oral surgery and special needs dentistry in our outpatient theatre under sedation and general anaesthetic. When Jill isn’t in the practice she is spending time with her growing family, and enjoying renovating her 1940s cottage.

I joined the NDC team in January 2018. I graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Hons) from Cardiff University (UK) in 2013. Since graduating I have been awarded the postgraduate Diploma for Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh).

Dr John Dela Pena studied at the University of Queensland, earning a Bachelor of Science with Honours in 2011. He later completed a Graduate Diploma of Dentistry and a Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science from Griffith University in 2017. John fervently believes in maintaining an honest and open dialogue with patients and focuses on creating custom tailored treatment plans that cater to the needs of the individual. This patient-centricity is tantamount to his status as a competent dentist in Chermside. Dr Pena is proficient in all areas of modern dental care but is particularly interested in pursuing preventative dentistry. Aside from the evolutionary dental sphere, he is passionate about keeping himself in tip top shape through exercise.
