I enjoy exercise and going to the gym whilst also becoming more accomplished in playing modern piano and guitar.
I have been involved in the dental industry for many years before graduating from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Applied Health Science in Oral Health.I pride myself in providing friendly and comfortable treatment for my patients. I am a registered specialist endodontist and I have been a practising endodontist for 16 years. Over that time I have completed many conventional and surgical endodontic cases utilizing a microscope. I currently divide my time between teaching at the University of Queensland, research and private practice, which ties together three different professional pathways. The best part of this combined track is that I am able to provide current evidence-based treatment to my patients, design clinically relevant research to find answers to clinical questions , and impart the concept of lifelong learning to the next generation of dentists and specialists. For many years, I have been lucky to be mentored by Associte Professor Alex Moule, a senior endodontists in Australia, and authored three chapters in his textbook Diagnosing Orofacial Pain. Together we have also written six peer reviewed journal articles and a chapter in the textbook Complications in Endodontics by Springer. In this particular chapter, Complications of local anaesthesia in endodontics , we were fortunate to have Professor Tara Renton, from of Kings College, London as a co-author.I have been associated with Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS) since 2005 and am currently the secretary of QLD regional committee. I am one of only three endodontists in Australia & New Zealand who have a fellowship by examination in both the general stream, and in the specialist stream of Endodontics. I am also the Associate Editor of a Wiley publication, Clinical Case Reports . A list of my contributions can be found at https://espace.library.uq.edu.au/uqukunju I look forward to helping with cases. If you want to discuss a case, the best thing to do is to send me an email at email@example.com. If you woul like to refer the case to me, your receptionist should be able to access my schedule for you. Since the patient records are accessible from any NDC practice, you can enter your referral in the notes rather than filling in another form.
Dr Ed Montgomery ran his own practice for 25 years and sold it so he could focus his time on “waking up and smelling the coffee”, and spending more time with family, farming, and cycling.
He spent the first 25 years of his life in England, relocating from an industrial area to the Aussie sunshine. His wife is a fifth-generation grazier from Pinkett who loves horses and he also has two grown-up boys living in Brisbane and an energetic younger daughter. He has also gone dental aid work in Laos and Kiribati and his wife thinks that is what inspires him most.
