Always interested in healthcare, Dr Scott Bentley (Dentist) likes that dentistry allows us to provide healthcare in such a tailored, and personalised way. He really enjoys that dentistry requires the application of science, artistry, and people skills to deliver great results. Helping people “fix their problems” and achieve good dental health and aesthetics is our goal. Dr Scott finds working as part of a team, within our clinic, very fulfilling. “It’s wonderful to see how a group of like-minded individuals can achieve so much more for our patients than any individual on their own.”

Fatima Bihi enjoys being an Oral Health Therapist at Mount Pleasant Dental Centre. Her love for helping people fostered a passion for consistently providing quality dental care and positive experiences for all her patients. She has an affinity for working with nervous patients and understanding their emotions, as she also experienced dental anxiety in the past.

Courtney Whitford-Smith always had an interest in health sciences, starting her career as a dental nurse after high school. Her passion to learn more led her to pursue a degree in dental hygiene. After developing a love for children’s dentistry, she furthered her studies with a degree in dental therapy. With over 20 years in the dental industry, Courtney has been able to set healthy oral hygiene habits early in her patients’ lives and form close relationships with them over the years.

Dr Beth always knew she wanted a medical career, so she could help people. She loves that dentistry is so hands-on and artistic in nature, making it the perfect choice for her. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, and takes pride in her ability to make her patients feel at ease. Dr Beth also tries to make dental appointments as enjoyable as possible. With a comprehensive approach to planning, and after fully assessing their needs and expectations, she finds it fulfilling to see the results her patients receive.

Dr Nadia Van Zyl (Dentist) moved from South Africa to Australia in 2012, and successfully completed the Australian Dental Exam. Her scope of practice includes all aspects of general dentistry, and she also has extensive experience in paediatric dentistry. Nadia was inspired to choose dentistry as a career because science meets creativity at a level that allows us to help and treat people, and ultimately improve their lives. The relationships she builds with individuals and also families are very unique and special.

Perth-born Dentist Dr Eric Wang is fluent in both English and Mandarin. Combining clinical care with a detail-focused approach, he supports patients by listening carefully and discussing options that suit their goals. His passion for helping people feel better about their appearance and their smiles led him to pursue advanced training in cosmetic dentistry and facial aesthetics. Since graduating from the University of Western Australia in 2007, Dr Eric has continued his studies to master the latest techniques in aesthetic and restorative dentistry. He completed extensive postgraduate studies at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, internationally recognised for its advanced training in smile design and cosmetic procedures. He also undertook training in Excellence in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics in Sydney, deepening his understanding of how tooth alignment affects overall facial harmony.

Creating relationships with her patients and helping them get past their dental anxieties is the most fulfilling part of Samantha Elverd’s job. She gets great joy at seeing patients progress over the years, from bad habits, like never flossing, to having excellent dental routines. Sam counts herself as lucky to have found Mount Pleasant Dental Centre. After assisting Dr Scott for six years before pursuing her degree, she was happy to return in 2014 after receiving her bachelor’s degree. While working in the Wheatbelt region for two years, she learned how important good quality services and staff can be. Her experience with the school service showed Sam the difference it can make in providing better health outcomes.
