Dr Arasu is an Irish-Australian trained doctor who has a broad medical experience base having worked in both Dublin and Australia for over ten years, and feels passionately that General Practice and primary care are the cornerstone of holistic medical and psychosocial patient care. She graduated with honours from The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2008 and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Prior to General Practice, Dr Arasu spent many years working in Intensive Care across hospitals in the northern beaches and at The John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle. She focuses on understanding what is important to her patients and achieving their best quality of life. Having largely trained and worked in General Practice in the country, she has accumulated significant experience in looking after older patients, those with chronic health issues, as well as patients in Aboriginal communities. She enjoyed rural work because of its challenges, opportunities and need for holistic medical approach to care, all of which Dr Arasu extends into any environment she works in. Dr Arasu is able to perform minor skin surgery, biopsies, as well as insertion and removal of Implanon Rods. She also has an interest in weight management, preventative health and adopts a kind approach, taking time to care for all her patients.
