Dr Sam graduated from the University of Tasmania Medical School in 1999 before working for two years at the Royal Hobart Hospital. He then moved to Sydney for his first posting with the Army. Sam was rewarded for his leadership and skill with six deployments – the highlight to Afghanistan as a helicopter retrieval doctor, plus he worked in coalition trauma hospitals caring for injured coalition soldiers and local nationals. Sam continues to be active in the Reserves.
Sam has completed postgraduate training in Sports Medicine and Paediatrics, which help him to focus on managing the multitude of issues that effect young families – both parents and children.
