Carmel graduated with Honours in Optometry from the University of Cardiff, UK in1993. Travel has been an important part of her life. During University she backpacked around Europe and in 1996 she backpacked around Mexico and Australia. In 2009 she took a break from work to travel around France-this time with her husband and their 2 children. She has built up a wealth of experience working in various practices in the UK (Leeds and Bristol) before emigrating with her family to Perth, Western Australia in 2011 to be closer to nature and to enjoy a warmer climate! In 2013 she completed the exams of the Optometry Council of Australia and New Zealand in Melbourne and then continued to work as an Optometrist in Perth. In 2016 she commenced further studies at The Australian College of Optometry and gained the postgraduate Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics enabling her to manage and prescribe for adverse ocular conditions. In the same year she moved to New South Wales with her young family to be closer to other family members. She has been living in the Hunter area since 2016 and has been working for The Optical Co Greenhills since 2017. She is passionate about Optometry and finding the correct optical solution for her patients. She is also experienced in managing eye conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration and red eyes. Outside of work she lives with her husband and two teenage children and her dog “Tink” in the Hunter Valley and likes to spend her time running, going to the beach, skiing and exploring New South Wales.

B. Optom (Hons), Therapeutically Endorsed I completed my optometry qualification in Auckland in 2015 and spent several years practising in Mount Gambier, South Australia, before relocating to Newcastle with my young family. My clinical passion lies in preventative eye care, and I strongly believe that proactive care and patient education are essential to preserving long-term vision. I have a particular interest in children's eye health, contact lenses, and helping patients better understand and manage conditions such as macular degeneration and glaucoma. I am committed to providing personalised, high-quality eye care and enjoy building lasting relationships with patients of all ages. Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my two children and making the most of Newcastle's beautiful beaches and parks.

Arash Graduated from school of Optometry at the UNSW in 1993. He holds a special interest in contact lenses, children's vision and Myopia control. Arash lives on the northern Suburbs of Sydney, and tries to keep up with three boys and a Cavoodle.
