Doctor of Optometry, University of Melbourne 1994 Therapeutic Prescriber Endorsed Paula is a highly experienced optometrist in delivering exceptional eye care. With a focus on both vision correction and the management of ocular health including dry eye, Paula works closely with her patients to address their individual needs.

Master of Optometry, Deakin University 2025 Michael is the most recent addition to Dyson & Long’s optometry team, joining the practice in August 2025 after serving his academic clinical placement at the practice.

Doctor of Optometry, University of Melbourne 2008 Therapeutic Prescriber Endorsed Philipa joined Dyson and Long in 2009 as a graduate optometrist. An East Gippsland local, she has quickly earned a loyal patient base and is currently a full-time optometrist in the practice. Philipa became a joint partner in the practice in 2013. Philipa’s professional interests include children’s vision and eye disease management. She has worked in Nepal Eye Hospital with the Fred Hollows Foundation, as well as worked in remote outreach clinics providing eyecare and cataract screenings. Away from optometry Philipa’s interests include netball and horse riding.

Doctor of Optometry, University of Melbourne 2017 Therapeutic Prescriber Endorsed Wendy, originally from East Gippsland, commenced work with Dyson & Long in 2018. She is a busy member of our optometry team, consulting at both our Bairnsdale practice and our East Gippsland Optical sister practice in Lakes Entrance.

Doctor of Optometry, University of Melbourne 1987 Graduate Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics 2002 Cameron commenced optometry services in Bairnsdale in 1992 at East Gippsland Optical before joining with Kenneth Long and forming Dyson & Long Optometrists in 1997. Currently a director and consulting optometrist at Dyson & Long, his professional interests include technological advances in eye disease management, custom optical lens design and rural optometry services. Away from optometry, Cameron’s interests include travel, paragliding, cycling, snowboarding and camping.

Doctor of Optometry, University of Melbourne 2016 Therapeutic Prescriber Endorsed Jade commenced private practice with an independent optometry clinic in Dubbo, before moving to Bairnsdale and joining Dyson & Long in 2019.
