Book with Mr. Osama Elsewaisy

Mr Osama Elsewaisy is an experienced Australian and internationally trained specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon who treats conditions affecting the hip and knee. He has undertaken two international subspecialty fellowships focusing on hip and knee surgery. Osama has a public hospital appointment at St. Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, and is a visiting surgeon at Bass Coast Health, Wonthaggi. Osama completed his medical degree at Monash university in 2009. He completed his orthopaedic training through the Australian Orthopaedic Association and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). Osama then worked as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at St. Vincent’s public hospital Melbourne, performing hip and knee replacements, arthroscopic knee surgery and ACL reconstructions. In 2020 and 2021, Osama undertook two overseas sub-specialty fellowships over 18 months, focusing on all aspects of hip and knee surgery. The first 6 months were spent in Edinburgh, UK. This consolidated his skills in primary hip and knee replacement surgery, and furthered his training in complex cases including revision (re-do) hip and knee surgery. This was followed by 12 months in Calgary, Canada, which included specific training in the direct anterior approach (DAA) for hip replacement, and partial knee replacement. Osama keeps up to date with the latest advances in Orthopaedics by attending relevant courses and conferences, and has presented his own research both locally and internationally. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Australian Orthopaedic Association, and a member of the Canadian Arthroplasty Society. Osama’s training and experience in Australia, the UK and Canada gives him a well-rounded international perspective in the management of disorders affecting the hip and knee.
