Prerna obtained her Bachelor of Optometry degree from the University of Melbourne in 2006. She is also endorsed in the prescription of eye medications. Her first job was in Gippsland where she experienced a huge variety of work a country practice presents. Having worked for a further four years in various Melbourne practices, including one year at a behavioural optometrist, she was invited to join the team at Eyecare Plus Bundoora.
Prerna is a member of Optometry Australia (OAA) and the Australasian College of Behavioural Optometrists (ACBO). She has a special interest in children’s vision, behavioural optometry and vision in the elderly. She has experience working in aged care facilities for over two years.
Since joining the practice in 2012, she has completed a course on Practical Vision Therapy, and keeps up to date on the latest developments in behavioural optometry. She also commenced clinical supervision of fourth year post graduate optometry students at the University of Melbourne Eyecare in 2016.
Her personal interests include travelling, trying different restaurants with friends in Melbourne’s growing café scene and running to keep fit.
