No other practice can promise you an enjoyable experience like we can at Watsonia Optical. From the moment you walk through our door you’ll be welcomed by the friendly atmosphere, comfortable and warm store environment, and an eye test that has to be experienced to be believed. Jeremy’s ever-present sense of humour and professional knowledge will have you enjoying your eye test whilst learning about your situation and any of his recommendations.
Watsonia Optical is located in the heart of the Watsonia Road shopping precinct, with heaps of parking available, and bus and train travel options virtually right at our doorstep.
Watsonia Optical has been in this present location for 25 years, and in this time we have seen the suburb of Watsonia go through tremendous changes, getting busier, younger, and a more enjoyable centre to work in and live near.
We carry an extensive selection of ever-changing fashion frames for all ages and styles. And whilst we can get any lens from all available suppliers around Australia and the world, we Jeremy delights in recommending the best (and most tailored) solution for your individual needs. He can only do this after the eye test consultation which usually involves plenty of questions, which help him find out exactly what is important to you and your lifestyle.
Watsonia Optical deals with all Private Health Funds and can claim on your behalf to minimise your out-of-pocket costs. And we’re proud to say we still bulk bill all eligible patients, so there is usually no cost to you for most appointments!

Jeremy has been working as an Optometrist for 20 years. He has worked in a variety of situations, including as a state wide locum for four years. During this time he worked for independents and corporate stores, in the city, suburbs, regional and rural. It was an experience which helped him work out what mode of optometry works best for most patients. Independent optometry gives him the freedom, flexibility and scope to deal with each patient and their individual needs.
Jeremy says “Being an Optometrist means I can help improve people’s lives. There isn’t a sense more important than vision. Independent Optometry has such a wonderful mix of features, and they’re all important. I get to work in retail, medical, administration, human resources, as well as test people’s eyes! And it is possible to do all this and keep a smile on everyone’s faces.”
Jeremy has a wife and two children, all of whom are not strangers to the business; you’re sure to see them some time. Jeremy believes it’s best to have the family involved in the business that takes a lot of his time sometimes.
