A Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and a member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA), Mr. Chia graduated from the University of Melbourne. He completed his orthopaedic training at renowned Australian hospitals, including The Alfred, one of the busiest emergency and trauma centres in the country. He also pursued advanced subspecialty training in Melbourne and France.
Mr. Chia specializes in anterior total hip replacements (bikini incision), partial and total knee replacements (including robotic-assisted and patient-specific instrumentation), hip arthroscopy, and reconstructive (sports) surgery.
He is an Instructional Consultant for the M.O.R.E. Institute in Switzerland, specializing in AMIS THR, and serves as a leading Reference Centre site for the bikini incision method in Victoria.
