  • Lynne works with adults, couples and adolescents. She gets excellent results helping people with anxiety, depression, PTSD, addiction, and relationships. Before joining NBP, Lynne worked in specialist clinics and facilitated substance use groups in correctional settings, assisting people recover from past addictions, substance abuse, domestic violence, anger, and complex trauma. Lynne has postgraduate training in a range of evidence-based therapies, including: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) EMDR (Eye Movement, Desensitisation & Reprocessing) Therapy * Neuropsychotherapy Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Compassion-Focussed Therapy (CFT) Mindfulness-Based CBT Lynne has a special interest in working with older adults and issues related to ageing. Lynne also has experience and a strong interest in working with LGBTI clients and their loved ones. Lynne’s approach to therapy is based on key neuroscience principles to create a sense of safety and acceptance for you, to support you to develop mental flexibility to cope, and to show you how to flourish. Lynne’s postgraduate research explored the goal-setting and planning of older people in later life and investigated the psychological needs of carers. Before becoming a psychologist, Lynne worked in senior policy and program roles in State Government. She began her professional working life as a journalist and magazine feature writer. Lynne can help you if you are struggling with uncertainty or change, be it in your career or your relationships. She knows that these stressful changes arise in most people’s lives and how much you want to feel calm and back in control again. She loves to help anyone suffering grief and loss, whether it is the loss of someone close, a pet, a relationship, a treasured goal, job or project. Lynne treats you as unique. She knows you want to understand and make sense of your feelings. She helps you discover your true value, as well as your core values. She focuses on uncovering the unique precious qualities that reside inside you. Lynne has an adult son and a daughter in high school. She loves working with young people and is interested in parenting issues. She is the custodian of a mischievous moodle Morrie and an overweight cat. She has all but given up on her over-planted sub-tropical garden, which now falls to her partner to chop back so they can find their front door!
