Dr Rosemary Craig graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of Sydney and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She has worked for over 20 years in the Northern Rivers region performing skin checks, diagnostic dermoscopy and skin excisions as a part of wholistic healthcare. Rosemary belongs to the Skin Cancer College of Australasia, Wounds Australia, the Australasian Wound and Tissue Repair Society and the Australian Society for Biophysics. Since 2015, Rosemary has been an Adjunct Professional Fellow of the Faculty of Health at the Southern Cross University, Lismore working on a new wound dressing which aims to reduce healing times and minimise the final scar. This technology is being commercialised with help from the CSIRO and the University of Queensland, and won the NASA iTech competition in 2020, beating a wide range of other emerging international innovations.

Dr Julie Alexander gained her Primary Medical Degree in Ireland in 2002 and after this, qualified and worked as a GP. After moving to Australia she completed a Masters Degree in Skin Cancer Medicine in 2014. Until recently, she has been working in country NSW where she gained most of her experience in Skin Cancer Management. She is passionate about skin cancer detection and sun protection.

Dr Ben Smith gained his primary Medical Degree at the University of Queensland in 2007. Following his medical degree, he worked in various surgical departments across the state, but settled on a career as a rural GP surgeon in Kingaroy. While his experience in rural Queensland was very broad and exciting, he developed a passion for skin cancer management due to its frequency of presentation and consequence of late diagnosis. He continues to expand his knowledge in the field by seeking formal qualifications in the Certificate of Dermoscopy and Advanced Clinical Certificate of Skin Cancer Surgery and Medicine. He looks forward to taking his broad diagnostic and skin surgery skills to Ballina and helping you with your skin concerns.
