Dr Ulrika Makuraj is an internationally trained medical practitioner with extensive experience across general practice, emergency medicine, cruise ships and clinical research in South Africa and Australia. She completed her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBCh) in South Africa in 2010 and worked as a GP before relocating to Australia during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since moving to Australia, Dr Makuraj has worked in clinical research in Melbourne and as a Senior Resident Medical Officer at Port Macquarie Base Hospital and Kempsey District Hospital. She holds a Master of Infectious Diseases from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and a Graduate Certificate in Travel Medicine. Ulrika enjoys the variety of general practice and values caring for patients at all stages of life. She takes a patient-centred, collaborative approach to care and is now accepting new patients at South Kempsey Medical Centre.
