    After completing his medical degree in 2006 at the University of Adelaide, Jed undertook internship and residency at Concord Hospital, Sydney. He was trained as an ophthalmologist at Sydney Eye Hospital. During his training he was very fortunate to spend time working in Darwin and various outreach clinics in the Northern Territory treating indigenous Australians. This is something he plans to continue in the future. From early in his training he developed an interest in glaucoma. Jed completed a glaucoma fellowship under the guidance of Prof Keith Martin at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, UK. Jed gained valuable experience in glaucoma surgery and complicated cataract surgery.

    The refractive team at Vision Eye Institute Brisbane is led by respected eye surgeon Dr Lee Lenton and includes an experienced team of optometrists and ophthalmic technicians. In particular, the highly skilled team take pride in delivering quality care and outcomes for patients. Additionally, some of our clinic staff are fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese. Dr Lenton has over 20 years of experience and was one of the first surgeons in Australia to perform laser eye surgery. He has now performed over 15,000 LASIK procedures and is also an expert in PRK (also known as ASLA). Dr Lenton is also able to offer an alternative solution (e.g. lens exchange, implantable contact lenses) if it turns out laser eye surgery isn’t an option for you.
