Practising 28 years.
Independent optometry today is far more challenging than it was 20 years ago. As corporate optometry tightens the
purse strings and their structures, it creates opportunities for independents to stand apart and emphasise the
differences we offer to the patient; more consistency in staff, certainly a friendlier and more personable experience with far more individual care. Spare time is spent with family and friends. I have an old jeep I like to fix up, and I like to dabble in astronomy. We
often go camping on the islands off the Queensland coast.
