I became a physio as I was always amazed with the results that physios achieved for me when I was injured when competing in swimming and surf boat rowing. I wanted to be able to provide those benefits to others. With my own experiences returning to exercise after a shoulder reconstruction, having a baby and various other injuries, I understand the frustrations of being restricted by injury and pain.
I returned to uni to complete a Doctor of Physiotherapy and have since also completed the Sports Physio Level 1 accreditation. I enjoy helping people return to activities they enjoy as well as maintain being active in the long term and prevent re-injury. I think it is important to work with each individual and develop a realistic self management program so that you feel empowered to look after your own health.
I really enjoy working with the active population of the Northern Beaches treating a variety of injuries and conditions. We have great connections with many gyms and other practitioners in the area and know it is important to work with your doctors, trainers and coaches to manage your condition.
I have an interest in retraining lower limb strength barefoot to improve ankle, knee and hip stability for people with chronic and niggly pain in the lower limb. I also enjoy working with people on shoulder rehabilitation; I understand how hard it is when you can't reach up to brush your hair!
