Specialising in the area of hand and upper limb therapy, Melita studied Occupational Therapy at Curtin University. Melita has previously worked in various hand therapy roles, both publicly and privately, in Western Australia. She also spent a number of years in the UK, notably managing the London Hand And Wrist Unit where she worked with some of London's most eminent hand and upper limb surgeons treating elite sports people and musicians. Melita supported the development of RehabMinder, a hand therapy app, and most recently contributed her experiences as a member of the Scientific Committee and Conference Committee for the 2021 Australian Hand Therapy Association (AHTA) National Conference. She has also written hand and upper limb courses for the AHTA
