I'm a licensed psychologist both in Australia and Italy with more that 10 year experience providing mental health, psychosocial and clinical intervention in various community and health services as well as in private practice. I'm passionate about supporting people who have gone through distressing situations, difficult life changes or trauma in their life to help them in their healing journey, guided by their specific needs and individualities to define the best approach that works for them. I'm specialized in working with experience of refugee trauma, migration concerns and cultural conflict. My clients tend to present with concerns related to anxiety, panic attacks, depression, grief, trauma, family concerns, relational problems, low self-esteem, anger issues and experience of violence and abuse. They often find it difficult to seek for help, but they experience a sense of relief and hope after their first session. My approach is centered on the therapeutic relationship, considered to be the main factor of change in therapy, and aims to develop a better understanding of self and of the presenting concerns in the context of the individual's past and present functioning, support healthy coping strategies and thinking patterns, help to manage overwhelming feelings and achieve a more integrated and harmonic sense of self. Since I don't believe than "one way works for all", I use an integrated approach that embraces principles of various therapies (cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, mindfulness, psychodynamic and strengths-based approach) and try to adapt to the client's needs and preference. Due to not being based in Australia at the moment, Medicare rebates are not available and my fees have been lowered to reflect that.

Hi, I'm an experienced Psychologist with a passion for helping people function at their best. I provide evidence-based psychological treatment to help people traverse and overcome the difficulties associated with lifes challenges and to build skills and strategies for wellbeing. Tough times, challenges and emotional pain are a part of all our lives. So is achievement, joy and happiness. Mental Health encompasses our ability to understand our struggles (and the causes) and to develop tools to navigate our thoughts and emotions effectively. In doing so we can become more resilient, self-compassionate and live rich, full and meaningful lives. I draw on tools from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and Attachment Theory. I also have expertise in the related fields of mindfulness and Wellbeing Science (sometimes referred to as Positive Psychology) and have worked with individuals, schools, and businesses in the areas of engagement, resilience and high performance. I offer therapy/ counselling and performance coaching, either face to face or via telehealth.

I am a registered Psychologist who has worked for many years in the trauma field. I work in a very client centred and holistic way, with the realisation that trauma can affect people in very different ways. I have a real understanding about how traumatic and difficult experiences can impact on self and mental/physical/emotional health, development, family systems, relationships, parenting, life choices, meaning and purpose, and general wellbeing. I have a good listening ear and intuitive capacity and I believe that everyone can learn, heal, and grow. My practice is informed by many different modalities and areas of knowledge, including: psychodynamic therapy, schema therapy, Hakomi, acceptance and commitment therapy, DBT, narrative therapy, mindfulness and Buddhism, somatic experiencing, attachment and interpersonal models, and compassion and self-care. More recently, I have become very interested in how spirituality and transpersonal work can assist with healing the connection to self and others. I never stop learning, and I am always involved in some kind of study. I also have a mentor who I see on a regular basis. I really love engaging in both of these things as they keep me evolving and excited about what it means to be a human being in this world.

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to read my profile :) I have a Master's degree in Psychology. I'm an Australian board-registered psychologist with experience working in hospitals, communities and, more recently, in private practice. I have experience with various issues across the lifespan and can adapt to children and adult clients from different cultural and social backgrounds. I am warm and approachable and will work collaboratively with you to understand and help you through your difficulties. My aim is to provide a listening ear and therapeutic space to support you through your personal journey and reach your desired outcome. The sessions are focused on being non-judgemental as everyone has their journey and difficulties in life. I enjoy swimming, cooking, and playing the piano in my spare time, and I find these activities therapeutic and relaxing. The stated fee is for psychosocial counselling intervention for those who do not have or not using Medicare rebates or private insurance. Hence, my fees are significantly reduced to help clients with ongoing costs. There is a different fee structure for clients who require formal diagnostic assessments, reports or letters, NDIS ($214) and WorkCover clients. Please enquire for more information and suitability. Book a complimentary 15-minute consultation to see if we might be a good fit for each other :) If none of the available times suits you, please get in touch with me, and I'll be able to create a new time for you. I look forward to connecting with you and being part of your unique journey!

Hi! I'm Maral, a qualified and experienced Counsellor and Psychologist. In sessions, I take a more holistic approach to healing, with over ten years experience working with adults and adolescents for all mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, anger etc... My therapy approach is person-centred, using a variety of modalities, including more alternative ones. I like to think I provide a warm and safe space for you in sessions, based on just listening to you as the client, and bringing in a non-judgemental approach to your life story. In my work, I help people navigate their life using their intuition and inner power. I deeply care about my clients, as an empathic being who knows myself how difficult life can be. My work has included being a Psychologist at Headspace and the Education Department, as well as having my own private practice for many years. Do you feel stuck in your life? Do you feel confused as to who you are or who you are becoming? Are you unsure of where you are going? Maybe the way life felt before, is now different? Maybe depression or anxiety has been creeping in and now you are looking to take some steps to change this? My clients have stated that they 'have felt more understood than ever in their life', this is because the counselling sessions with me take a different approach and are highly effective. If you have found that counsellors in the past have not listened to you and that no solution came out of it, then this may be a better option for you. Many of my clients leave testimonials, and all of them have been positive. Some of my work focuses on integral holistic therapy, in addition to more standard approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. In sessions I work with your soul to establish a more specific and catered approach to your life story. I am also a qualified Metaphysical Anatomy coach, focusing on how the mind and emotions impact our health including chronic illnesses. I am not your standard Psychologist, in that I bring in more holistic approaches to the sessions, as we are more than just our mind. My specialism is soul therapy where I bring in all aspects of you (past, present and future), understanding how your thoughts and emotions are connected to your manifestations in life, through your soul journey, including how your emotions can impact your physical health. I provide free 15 minute consultations to discover if this is the right type of counselling for you. Please be aware the calendar may not reflect my available times. *Please be aware that I am unable to provide medicare rebates*

I understand it can be a daunting process to decide to proceed with therapy. One of the things I admire most in my clients is the courage they display in being ready to take action and being open to a more hopeful future. I love to work with people who are at the stage of their journey where they are ready and motivated to take action to change their situation. I often work with people who have anxiety disorders (e.g. obsessive compulsive disorder, generalised anxiety, health anxiety, social anxiety, panic disorder, phobias). I also work with other presentations such as relationship issues, break-ups, burnout, perfectionism, assertiveness training and people pleasing. I am a clinical psychologist and have worked lecturing masters students, in hospital settings and in private practice. I like to have a brief 15 minute chat with all potential clients to see if I can help with their issues prior to them booking in a session, and if not, can point them in the right direction to someone else who can work with their presenting issues.

I aim to improve peoples lives by providing a safe space to work through emotional distress, in all its forms. I hold a dual PhD and Doctorate of Clinical Psychology, and a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours I) from the University of Sydney. I have over a decade of clinical and research experience in NSW hospital, private practice, and not-for-profit settings, including Royal North Shore Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital, HammondCare, and Westmead Hospital. I aim to provide a collaborative experience built on a trusting therapeutic relationship, empathy, and understanding. I believe that successful therapy is both an art and a science. Along with more common issues of anxiety and mood, my expertise is in working with those going through major life transitions. This includes adjustment to loss/change, illness, parenting, motherhood, chronic health conditions, complex trauma (C-PTSD), and relationship concerns. I customise therapy based on the person and the problem. My approach to therapy is holistic, evidence based, and integrates multiple theories, with particular emphasis on relational, psychodynamic, and trauma-informed ways of thinking. Resilience factors, the impact of ones adverse early life events, and intergenerational patterns of relating, including issues such as culture, migration, colonisation, and societal constructs are vital considerations in my approach to therapy. I am actively involved in continuing professional development, particularly in areas of trauma-informed practices of care, psychodynamic and relational modes of thinking. I recently co-authored The Cancer Pain Book and developed the accompanying "Cancer Pain App". I have extensive experience in health psychology, particularly in the fields of chronic pain, oncology, palliative care, rehabilitation, stoke, spinal cord injury, carer burden, and burnout. I am also informed by research and am an active researcher in the areas of post-traumatic growth and meaning-making after trauma and loss.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my profile! My name is Melissa and I am a clinical psychologist with over 14 years experience in the field. I am passionate about helping people across the age spectrum overcome mental health problems such as anxiety, depression, stress, childhood trauma, and eating disorders. I also help clients who need support navigating through tricky life stressors, for instance: relationship and intimacy issues, work burnout, grief, health problems, friendship issues, and parenting difficulties. I also have a special interest in supporting international students and expats as I have personal experience with some of the challenges associated with moving overseas and being away from your home country. Another area I am passionate about is working with neurodivergent clients such as autistic people and ADHDers (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). I use a neurodiversity-affirming therapy style to address the surrounding issues and challenges associated with the neurodiversity. My therapy goal is to support you to embrace the unique parts of yourself and thrive to reach your individual goals and values in life. As a clinical psychologist, I draw upon evidence based psychological interventions which are individually tailored to meet the needs of my clients. I have substantial training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) which are gold-standard treatments for a wide range of mental health disorders. I also have advanced training in Schema Therapy from the founder Dr. Jeffrey Young and renowned schema therapist Wendy Behary. Schema Therapy involves identifying self-defeating life patterns and using experiential techniques such as imagery rescripting and chair work to heal maladaptive schemas and to enhance connection, fulfilment, and joy in one's life. I am passionate about Schema Therapy and believe it is an incredibly profound type of treatment in which clients are guided through a journey of self-discovery to identify areas of meaningful growth and to make steps towards lasting change. My professional background has involves obtaining a Doctorate of Psychology in Clinical Psychology from La Trobe University, Melbourne in 2013. I have worked in both the public mental health sector and in my own private practice. Across my career in public mental health, I have been employed in a Child and Youth Mental Health Service, Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team (CATT), and within an Emergency Department. I have also held a senior clinical psychologist position for a Suicide Prevention Service. I have operated my own private psychology practice since 2015 and currently see clients online via telehealth. Alongside my clinical work with clients, I also provide supervision for other psychologists. If my profile resonates with you and you would like to meet, please feel free to book a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your therapy goals and to find out if we would be a good fit to work together in therapy. You are also welcome to book a 50-minute therapy session to get started on working through your therapy goals. I offer both short-term (between 1-6 therapy sessions) and longer-term therapy dependent on your needs and preferences. Couples therapy can also be arranged at a special reduced-fee while I complete further training in The Gottmans Method Couples Therapy and Schema Therapy for Couples. My experience in working with couples is more limited than working with individual clients, although I do have foundational training in couples therapy and have worked with a number of couples within my private psychology practice over the years. I have an interest in expanding my practice to reach more couples, as I feel there is a need for more couples to receive support and guidance in how to improve the quality of their relationship. If you are a couple interested in receiving couples therapy at a reduced fee while I undertake further training in this area, please get in touch to further discuss this opportunity. *** Please note that Medicare rebates are not currently available. Alternatively, you may be eligible for private health cover - please check directly with your private health insurer for confirmation ***

I am a registered Psychologist who focuses on wellbeing, stress, work-life balance, workplace advice, coaching, and mentoring. I have a Masters in Psychology (Organisational and Human Factors) which is essentially the science of people at work. I am passionate about workplace issues, and making the large portion of our life that is work, as fulfilling as possible. To me, therapy is a space where individuals can feel listened to and cared for. It is an opportunity to explore the challenges one may be facing, but also to understand ourselves better. I like to take a holistic approach to assist clients in exploring emotional, physical, and environmental factors that affect their life, and focus on realistic and logical solutions. I believe it is worth looking back to the past to consider how past events may impact the here and now. Often insight into the links between our past and present make a solid foundation for change. From my studies in Organisational Psychology, I have been trained to provide coaching to support people to enhance their performance in their professional lives through motivational interviewing. I have worked in a number of different industries over the years, and have experienced the unique pressures of working in different environments. Outside of work, I love to run, bake, play guitar and piano, and surf (when a beach is nearby). If you want to book a session and cannot find a suitable time, please send me a message and we may be able to work something out.
