Raquel Ugarte-Veliz has a Master’s degree in Social Work and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science from Sydney University. Raquel has extensive counselling experience with adults, children, couples and families. For more than a decade she was a Child Protection officer working with the police and courts. Raquel speaks fluent Spanish and has extensive experience with refugees, migrants, and diverse populations. Her work has been in mental health, sexual assault, domestic violence, bullying, workplace issues, & serious and persistent trauma. Raquel has a breadth of experience in Depression and other mood disorders, Anxiety disorders, Personality disorders, Suicidal thoughts, Relationship problems, Life crises, Adjustment issues, Trauma, and Family. Raquel believes that individuals need to be empowered, as they are experts in dealing with their own psychological problems, the associated social, environmental or quality of life problems, and through empowerment they are able to improve their quality of life.
