The Family Eye Centre provides comprehensive Paediatric and Adult eye assessment & surgery. We specialise in treating cataract, neurological problems, children's eye disease, diabtetes, glaucoma & strabismus.
Dr Bedggood and his team provide comprehensive medical and surgical eye care, we welcome new patients who can be referred by a Doctor, Optometrist or Vision hearing testers. Or you can provide details on our contact page at www.familyeyecentre.nz.
Our skilled technicians also provide a range of complex screening services, many of these are free, they provide you and your GP with vital information about your eye health.
First Specialist appointments cost $245, Optometry initial visits $135, & myopia or Orthoptist clinics $85. Specialist visits are covered by Health insurers (Dr Bedggood is a medical specialist and a surgeon). Children <16 years old with a Community Services Card (either parent or child has one) are fully funded for all assessments & tests, there is no part charge.
Our practice is parent and child-friendly, with dedicated Paediatric clinics. Dr Bedggood's clinics run on Monday, Thursday & Friday. He treats complex childhood eye problems as well as cataract, glaucoma, strabismus, neuro-ophthalmic and other common eye problems in adults.
We have screening clinics available 2 days a week for important eye problems such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataract and diabetic retinopathy. You can book into this clinic if you have not seen Dr Bedggood before, to find out what type of problem is present and arrange further assessment if necessary.
Testing is performed by a trained technician and a report sent to your GP.
