Glen Eden Optometrist was opened in 1979 by Mrs Margaret Raby. Nigel Somerville joined the team in 1983 after completing his Bachelor of Science and Diploma of Optometry from the University of Auckland, eventually purchasing the practice from Mrs Raby.
100% New Zealand owned and operated, Glen Eden Optometrists became part of the Visique group in 2000. Offering comprehensive eye examinations with professional, friendly advice, Glen Eden Optometrists tailors their service to your specific needs.
Glen Eden Optometrists specialise in police recruit testing and enable subsidies (for children with a community services card). We also work closely with the Auckland Deaf community, offering VRI (video remote interpreting), or face-to-face interpreting service.
