Papamoa Optometrists was the first optometry practice established in Papamoa in 2004 in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty.
Originally from Southland, optometrist Scott Dumbleton graduated in 1996 and in 1997 started work in northern Pakistan at the Gilgit Eye Hospital until 2003. In 2004 he returned to help open Papamoa optometrists before returning back to Pakistan for shorter trips. During 2006 Scott became therapeutically qualified which complements his hospital experience dealing with eye infections, trauma and anything unusual. In 2008 he purchased Papamoa optometrists and has developed it into a full time practice.
