    InSight Psychology

    2 / 49 Ocean Street, Woolgoolga NSW 2456 Australia

There are many reasons why people may benefit from working with a Psychologist. At InSight Psychology, we offer individual psychological treatment for adults and a broad range of common child /adolescent emotional, behavioural, and social therapies for concerns including: -Mental health conditions like anxiety and depression. - Adjustment difficulties including grief/loss, attachment and family separation. - Social skill development tools such as assertiveness, emotional intelligence and resilience building. - Behaviour challenges including anger/aggression and risk taking. - Specialization in working with people who have high functioning autism spectrum disorder. A ‘toolbox’ of evidence based practices are utilized by our psychologist with a strong emphasis on Mindfulness, Short-Term Solution Focused therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), art/expressive therapies and play based interventions. Our approach to child counselling therapy is based on successful, well established methods that greatly benefit the individual and our clinicians ensure that where in the best interest of your child, parents will be included or informed throughout the process. We can also assist parents with tools to assist with their child’s issues and to improve their relationship with their child when needed.Therapy is provided online via a Zoom link in the comfort of your own home which makes it easier for you to attend sessions and easier to get your child/adolescent to engage without the hassles of transporting them to an appointment. We believe in the importance of early intervention as an essential part in assisting the prevention of additional future issues and we work collaboratively with caregivers to recognize the important role that the parent/child relationship plays in improved well-being. We also endeavour to connect with the school(s) to ensure the child/adolescent is supported in every environment. For adolescents, there are significant hormonal, mental and physical developmental changes that occur in people between the ages of around 10 to 20. These factors together with peer pressure and the academic expectations young adults face all have the capacity to affect their self-confidence and overall well-being. Many issues can be worked through by the individual with the support of family and friends, however sometimes professional expertise and assistance is required through counseling. Individual counseling will typically last 50 mins either in a weekly or fortnightly session, with realistic and recommended time frames for treatment discussed after the initial assessment has been completed (first 1-2 sessions).

    Holistic Health Solutions

Suite 54, 47 Neridah St, Chatswood NSW 2067 Australia

I am a registered psychologist with over 20 years experience in the field. I have worked in private practice in Chatswood since 1999. In addition to my psychology training, I have completed a Diploma in Sexual Health Counselling and a comprehensive one-year training course in Ellyn Bader’s Developmental Model of Couples Therapy. I am an accredited sexuality therapist and I am skilled in dealing with sexual functioning issues (low libido, orgasm difficulties, physical pain during sex, performance anxiety, ejaculation problems), the psychological repercussions associated with sexual and physical traumatic events, and compulsive sexual behaviours. I use a holistic approach which combines behavioural, interpersonal and mind-body therapies. I can help you to locate the underlying emotional and physical responses to a particular problem, working at a deep level with both mind and body in order to effect long-lasting change. I utilise my training in Inner Space Techniques - a form of meditative body-oriented therapy that helps to access these core emotional undercurrents within the body. I am also able to help you process and regulate your emotions, understand negative patterns of behaviour, develop better communication strategies and increase body awareness. I am experienced in working with a range of client presentations, including depression, anxiety, grief, stress and anger. As a relationship counsellor, I am able to support couples through all sorts of relationship issues, including infidelity, intimacy, arguments and communication problems. I have experience working with complex trauma, especially in the area of sexuality. I am guided by the principles of trauma-informed counselling practice and work towards creating safety; self-paced learning; and consolidating your progress. I start by creating a safe therapeutic space so that you feel physically and emotionally safe. My clinic room is located in a quiet inner courtyard sheltered from street noises and passing traffic. I facilitate bodily wellbeing with body-oriented methods to help you begin to feel safe in a bodily sense. You have control over the therapeutic process and are in charge of the pace of your healing and progress. To help you feel more stable, I provide “here and now” grounding techniques to generate centred connection within. Working on the trauma, I will validate your responses to the particular traumatic events you have experienced, such as the flight, fight & freeze responses, or triggers and flashbacks. Together we will develop tools and techniques to orient back to the present moment. By generating awareness of patterns of avoidant behaviour you can begin to address these, consolidate your strengths, develop self-care protocols, and build trust in yourself again. The combination of my skill sets allow me to offer a broad range of therapeutic methods and holistic interventions. You will see for yourself what prevents you from having the sex life you want. Your concerns are addressed from a psychological and body-oriented level where lasting changes can take place.

    Inspirit Psychology

Suite 3, 2a/16 Boyle Street, Sutherland NSW 2232 Australia

Inspirit Psychology was initially started in 2013 by Sutherland Shire clinical psychologist, Geoff Lyons. Initially the practice started as a side venture while Geoff was working in palliative care. He loved the hospital palliative care unit he worked in but was curious about the field of “integrative health”, which essentially is the integration of complementary health approaches into mental health care. Starting his own private practice was the best way for him to explore the use of complementary approaches, such as meditation and nutrition, along with psychology. In 2013 the practice opened for a brief time in Crows Nest before moving to the suburb of Sutherland in the Sutherland Shire of Sydney. At that time Inspirit Psychology was the only clinical psychologist practice in the Sutherland Shire integrating complementary therapies into its services (something fairly common these days). The practice has stayed in Sutherland since 2013 and remained a stable source of support and wellness for the Sutherland Shire community. Over the years several other associates have joined the ranks to provide holistic care to the Sutherland Shire and Sydney area.
