Sunix have recently released a revolutionary “NEXT Generation” online SaaS (Software as a Service) version of their popular optometry PMS and are prompting existing customers using the PMS to upgrade to the new version of the software.
We think it is great that Sunix has been building a new SaaS system, HOWEVER, MyHealth1st recommends that users postpone upgrading to NEXT Generation, as currently there is no available integration between the SaaS PMS and MyHealth1st Optometry suite of products or the MyHealth1st.com.au optometry directory marketplace.
What this means is that none of the products, services and strategic value added capabilities that you currently have through MyHealth1st Optometry are not available to you through this new PMS. MyHealth1st is more than simply an online booking provider, with products and services offered including the number one optometry marketplace in Australia (for attracting new patients to your practice), digital patient engagement and retention tools, including smart SMS reminders and customisable pre appointment lifestyle questionnaires, post consult feedback surveys, post spectacle collection surveys and more.
Without a Sunix SaaS integration, you miss out on the following MyHealth1st products and features, which will directly impact revenues for your practice.

MyHealth1st Optometry OnlineAppointments - Without proper integration, MyHealth1st OnlineAppointments will not work with your PMS. This means that the booking buttons on your website and your listing on the MyHealth1st.com.au Marketplace will no longer be able to sync online bookings to your PMS.
Every booking system requires a number of steps to complete a booking - collecting patient information, choosing appointment times, verifying information, giving contact details and the like. While the information gathered is essentially common across all booking systems, that does not mean that every booking system is the same.
MyHealth1st Optometry OnlineAppointments has the best “click to book conversion rate” in the market. Why is this so important? It means converting more of your own valuable website traffic into bookings and therefore revenue. The people who start a booking using MyHealth1st Optometry OnlineAppointments are many times more likely to complete the booking than any other booking system. Moving to the NEXT Generation SaaS PMS cuts you off from accessing 3rd party services and products like MyHealth1st Optometry.
The MyHealth1st.com.au optometry directory and marketplace - MyHealth1st features the premier healthcare marketplace for optometry practices in Australia. Even with the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, the marketplace continued to deliver increased bookings across the board to practices across the country.
Due to MyHealth1st Optometry OnlineAppointments not being available with the NEXT Generation PMS, a practice using the new Sunix system can’t be listed in the MyHealth1st.com.au Optometry Director Marketplace, restricting your access to valuable 3rd party services like MyHealth1st’s valuable source of new patient bookings.
MyHealth1st Optometry EasyEngage - The MyHealth1st Optometry EasyEngage product allows healthcare practices to send MyHealth1st Optometry specific and/or custom surveys to patients with appointments. In an effort to help your practice compete with large chains such as OPSM and Specsavers, we have created a number of valuable surveys specifically for independent optometry practices.
These surveys - pre appointment lifestyle questionnaire, post appointment and post glasses pickup - help practices to gather valuable information about patients, allowing them to easily improve the patient experience, service provided, and increase patient retention to help you grow your practice.

Access to Value Adding Strategic Partnerships - MyHealth1st is dedicated to providing the best experience for our customers. Part of this strategy includes strategic partnerships that offer participating practices access to additional patient flow.
These partnerships include Australia’s leading BNPL (Buy Now Pay Later) providers, Openpay, Afterpay and Latitude Pay and now Alcon and Johnson & Johnson. Patients can search for practices offering BNPL on the MyHealth1st.com.au marketplace, and thanks to the partnership, MyHealth1st practices can tap into the member base and website traffic of the BNPL company websites and directories as well, helping drive even more new business to your practice.
MyHealth1st has partnered with leading contact lens providers, Alcon and Johnson & Johnson to provide contact lens specific Sales Booster Programs for invited MyHealth1st optometry customers. The program designed by Myhealth1st delivers 2-5 times growth in contact lens sales and drives even more new patients to your practice - and the best part is it costs you nothing!. Without access to the MyHealth1st these value added partnerships cannot be accessed by your practice.
What You Can Do
MyHealth1st recommends that you delay your migration to the SaaS version of Sunix until a full integration with MyHealth1st is available. To speed up your access, you could let them know that your decision to defer your migration is due to the lack of integration, and you’ll be happy to make the move once the issue has been resolved, as in the example below:
Dear (Contact)
While I am interested in migrating to the new SaaS version of the PMS, I’m not in a position to do so at the moment, due to the lack of integration with MyHealth1st.
My practice currently uses a number of products and services provided by MyHealth1st that are currently unavailable in the new PMS. I’ll be happy to migrate to the new SaaS platform once integration has been sorted out.
Regards,
(Practice Manager)
